WHAT IS MicroVita™ AND WHAT DOES IT DO?

MicroVita is a complex of humic acids, organic acids, surfactants, proprietary formulated minerals, vitamins, plant growth factors, hormones, and enzymes. MicroVita comes in two forms, MicroVita (reg) and MicroVita (OR). The MicroVita (reg) product is for use in conventional growing operations. MicroVita (OR) is listed for use in organic farming by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI). Both products are used in the same manner and for the same purposes. Both MicroVitas can be used as soil improvers and as foliar sprays.

MicroVita as a soil improver:

When MicroVita is used as a soil improver, it stimulates microbial growth in the soil, provides plant growth factors, increases root volume, and makes the transfer of nutrients and water from the soil to the plant more efficient. Because MicroVita greatly stimulates microbial activity, slow release organic fertilizers like compost, fish meal, blood meal, and decaying cover crops can release nitrogen and other nutrients to the plant more rapidly and in forms that are more available for root absorbsion. Speeding nutrient availability helps solve a significant problem for organic growers, as many times this type of fertilizer takes too long to become available to the plant. In addition, because MicroVita makes the fertilizer applied more efficient, it helps growers cut costs and increases yields significantly.

Product use rates and timing:

In seeded crops, MicroVita’s surfactants, organic acids, and humic acids help speed germination and early root growth, so an application of 1 gallon per acre of MicroVita at planting is advised.

Transplants also benefit by an application of 1 gallon MicroVita per acre at first watering as it will help ease “transplant shock” and promote early root growth.

About ½ way through the growing cycle of the plant, apply another 1 gallon per acre in the irrigation water. If working with a flowering crop, make this application just before bloom.

MicroVita as a foliar spray:

MicroVita can also be used as a foliar spray. When diluted at least twenty to one in water, it directly provides nutrients, hormones, vitamins, plant growth factors, and enzymes. MicroVita penetrates leaf surfaces providing minerals to the plant through the leaf, reduces surface tension of the leaf, and increases the absorption of any foliar nutrients applied as part of the spray application.

Product use rates and timing:

Apply ½ gallon of MicroVita per acre in at least 10 gallons of water when the air temperature is less than 90 degrees. Apply at least 2 times in the growing cycle. The first application should be about 30 days into the crop cycle and the second application 30 days later. For long cycle crops a third application may be made 30 days after the second application.
